The Real Miracle

by Dr. Karen Oliveto, Pastor

This is my third holiday season at Glide and once again, I am amazed at the miracles that abound here, not only in November and December but throughout the year.

From November through December, our building is filled to overflowing with food, volunteers, toys, hungry people, and children. People come from throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area to get a warm meal, a bag of groceries, and some toys for Christmas Day.  They come to sort and serve, to welcome and hold. They come to receive some spiritual nourishment and community. People come for so many reasons and find a place ready for them at Glide.

The real miracle, however, is that this occurs not just during the holiday season, but throughout the year. Every day, there are meals to be served and eaten, health care offered, shelter beds reserved, child care available, and the Spirit of Love shared.

And no one is turned away. Now THAT is a miracle!

Be a part of the miracle of Glide, where no one is turned away, where everyone is welcomed, where food is plenty, and where the Spirit abounds!
