Because of GLIDE…

by Sophia Suarez, WIC Case Manager

This year I am most thankful for being a part of the GLIDE Family. Since I have been part of GLIDE, my life has changed entirely. It has opened my eyes to see the reality of life. I have learned that at any moment my life can change and that there is no telling what’s next in life. Life has its ups and downs; right now you can be living in the best of the best but you never know when you might be headed to your down point in life. I’ve  learned that everyone has their story and you should treat everyone the way you want to be treated and also that something or someone is never forever yours.

I am thankful that I have learned and experienced all these changes that can occur at any moment in my life. I am thankful because I am part of GLIDE. I am thankful because I can really help people in dire need. I am thankful for working here because without GLIDE I wouldn’t be able to financially maintain my family together. I am thankful for being who I have become to be because of GLIDE. I am just thankful for GLIDE because without GLIDE I wouldn’t be the new me.

Thank you GLIDE!

GLIDE regrets to tell our community that Joyce Hayes, an icon in our history and childcare program, passed away on Tuesday, 5/23/2017. Her life, love and legacy will not be forgotten.

Our Harm Reduction Team always needs people to help assemble safer injection kits. Distributing these kits to our community members who inject drugs greatly reduces the spread of Hep C and HIV. It's about #publichealth and recognizing the dignity and human rights of ALL people living in our city! #harmreduction #cleansharps
