Experience Wellness Services at GLIDE on April 8!

by Steven Mach, GLIDE Health Services Wellness Center, SFCCC Americorps Member

April 8, 2011 from 10AM-2PM will go down as a great day to experience Wellness Services here at GLIDE Health Services! The Wellness Center is opening soon, and there is no better way to bring in the new than to showcase the wellness services available to the community. Stop by to learn about and experience: stress reduction techniques, nutrition, mind/body health, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, expressive art therapy, and massage therapy. In addition, there will be free screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, depression, and HIV rapid testing.

The event is completely free and open to all of the public. With so many community partners in one place, the fair is a great opportunity to meet representatives from the SF Psychological Association, Alliant University, the California Institute of Integral Studies, SF Suicide Prevention, the Mental Health Association-SF, the YMCA, and the Hospitality House.

So take a break, ease your stress, and come on through to the world of wellness that GLIDE and the community have to offer.

A retro photo of Joyce Hayes, a true GLIDE hero, who so strongly believed in supporting children and providing them with stability, education and #unconditionallove. GLIDE regrets to tell our community that Joyce Hayes, an icon in our history and childcare program, passed away on Tuesday, 5/23/2017. Her life, love and legacy will not be forgotten.

Our Harm Reduction Team always needs people to help assemble safer injection kits. Distributing these kits to our community members who inject drugs greatly reduces the spread of Hep C and HIV. It's about #publichealth and recognizing the dignity and human rights of ALL people living in our city! #harmreduction #cleansharps
