GLIDE Women’s Health Event on May 10th!

by Yvonne Piper, UCSF Nursing Student

This week is not only Mother’s Day, but is also the kick-off of Women’s Health Week. GLIDE Health Services will be celebrating women’s health on Tuesday, May 10th with an event for our clients commemorating this week.

Maybe you have some questions about breast exams, mammograms, or Pap smears. Are you wondering what even happens during one of these tests, or why you should get them? Ever wondered how often you should get that Pap smear? Do you know at what age women should start receiving screening mammograms? Would you like to know what is included in a pelvic exam? Come join us and find out!

Perhaps you are a survivor of breast or cervical cancer who would like to come share your story – this group is the place for you!

We will have a fun, interactive chat about women’s health, as well as gifts and snacks for participants. Come take care of yourself in a relaxed, fun group!

Our Women’s Health Week event will be held Tuesday, May 10th, from 11:00 until 12 noon in the 6th floor group room. We hope to see you there!

Our Harm Reduction Team always needs people to help assemble safer injection kits. Distributing these kits to our community members who inject drugs greatly reduces the spread of Hep C and HIV. It's about #publichealth and recognizing the dignity and human rights of ALL people living in our city! #harmreduction #cleansharps
