Schwab Employees Make the Holidays Brighter for Children in SF

I’m privileged to have the opportunity to work alongside women and men who daily demonstrate a passion to serve our clients and one another. This spirit of service makes Schwab a special place to work and their commitment often extends well beyond the work they do here.

We frequently have the opportunity to team up with organizations that also do great work in our communities – like GLIDE. For over a decade, Schwab and GLIDE have partnered to help break the cycles of poverty in San Francisco. On December 20, 100 of my colleagues and I helped distribute toys at GLIDE’s Annual Toy Giveaway. In a little more than two hours, we gave out thousands of toys to more than 1,200 children – an incredible effort.

The joy and excitement experienced by hundreds of kids and parents was a wonderful gift for our team this holiday season. I also was particularly struck by the dedication of the amazing staff and volunteers at GLIDE. They worked tirelessly to organize the toy giveaway and ensure that every child left with a gift in hand. I want to thank them for allowing us to participate in this important event.

Our Harm Reduction Team always needs people to help assemble safer injection kits. Distributing these kits to our community members who inject drugs greatly reduces the spread of Hep C and HIV. It's about #publichealth and recognizing the dignity and human rights of ALL people living in our city! #harmreduction #cleansharps
