Dear GLIDE…

Dear GLIDE,

My name is Lea Möller and I am from Denmark. I have been at GLIDE for six months as an intern from the University of Copenhagen working in the Walk-In Center and the Women’s Center. Very soon I will have to return back to my country, family, friends and school. My experience at GLIDE has been bigger than words can explain in black and white…but I will try anyway.

GLIDE is a very special place and I am touched and moved to my bones! It’s a colorful place where you will find recognition, warmth, spirit, and love. I felt overwhelmed by all this from the day I put my feet at GLIDE and the overwhelming feeling has never left me. You never know what will happen at GLIDE, which makes it a place that always goes with the flow, and a place that requires a creative staff to make safe surroundings in the clients’ lives.

I don’t feel ready to go home yet but I do feel that I got an experience of LIFE and a bag pack full of adventure, stories, transformations and learning. I have gotten so much inspiration from GLIDE!

I will miss you all A LOT!

Lots of love,
Lea

GLIDE sends a special shout-out to the SF Board of Supervisors President, @londonbreed, and our District 6 Supervisor, @supejanekim, for their swift response to our call to help. When a water pressure problem threatened GLIDE's ability to serve the 2000 meals needed daily by our community, these stellar Supervisors got the problem fixed overnight!
