Happy Anniversary, Women’s Center!

Women’s Center participants stand up to be acknowledged.

GLIDE’s Women’s Center celebrated their 5th anniversary today with a beautiful tea party.

Freedom Hall was transformed into a gorgeous space to honor the participants and supporters of the program. Women’s Center Program Manager, Zwazzi Sowo said, “The beauty and transformation that you see in this room is the beauty and transformation that happens in the Women’s Center.”

Founding President, Janice Mirikitani, expressed her love and support of the program, which walks with women on their road to recovery from violence, oppression, and isolation. “The Women’s Center has been a dream for me. You are worth everything. You are jewels.” Reverend Cecil Williams followed, offering his love to the center and to all of its participants. “Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you aren’t the best thing that’s happened in the world,” Cecil said.

On behalf of the entire GLIDE Family, congratulations, Women’s Center! Thank you for your commitment to providing unconditional love and recovery to survivors of domestic violence. We are with you as you continue to offer a home and haven to all women.
