A Day of Work and Reflection – Community Building Division

Every year, GLIDE’s Community Building Division (CBD) spends a day off-site to learn new ways to approach their work, reconnect, and rejuvenate. CBD is comprised of the Daily Free Meals Program, The Walk-In Center, The Women’s Center, and the Security Team. Often, members of the CBD staff are the first point of contact for our guests and program participants at GLIDE, and they are constantly immersed in the community, meeting the needs of those we serve. It’s difficult and rewarding work, and the retreat gives CBD the opportunity to reconnect with their passion and inspiration.

At this year’s CBD retreat, they explored different types of oppression and how they manifest in each of our lives. They engaged in activities that helped them uncover the ways in which we engage oppression and hurt ourselves and those around us. CBD then takes what they learn at the retreat and uses those lessons to inform their work and their lives outside of GLIDE.

On behalf of the entire GLIDE staff, thank you CBD for all that you do for the GLIDE community!
