Sharing Meals with James H.

What are your earliest food memories? We recently sat down with James H., Daily Free Meals Program Expeditor to find out what sharing a meal means to him.

What is your earliest memory around sharing food?
When I was nine or ten my grandmother had a barbecue. Some strangers walked by and she offered them free food. That’s my first memory of sharing food.

How do volunteers influence you and how what values do volunteers seem to bring to GLIDE?
Well, I used to be a volunteer here at GLIDE myself. GLIDE’s volunteers are full of love, and want to give purpose to this experience.

What are your passions?
I have many passions. One of my passions is helping people, helping the needy. What drives me? The children in the Coffee House smiling, their faces lighting up. If you ever look at the children, full of energy, you have to fall in love with them.

I wish… for peace.
I hope…for a better future.
I love…my work here at GLIDE.
