Amy Errett, Chair

Founder and CEO, Madison Reed Inc.
Amy Errett offers GLIDE more than 25 years of business and operating expertise as a leading entrepreneur, senior executive and social-mission visionary. She is a Co-Founder of Madison Reed Inc. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. She was a General Partner and Partner at Maveron LLC,  joining the team in 2008 and leading its San Francisco Bay Area office. She served as  Chief Executive Officer and Owner of  The Olivia Companies, LLC repositioning the travel company as a complete lifestyle company for gay women. Errett received the Israel Fellows Award, presented by the San Francisco-based Jewish Community Federation and in 2006 was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Northern California. Phillip Zackler

Legal Counsel, GoPro, Inc.
Phil lives and works as an attorney in San Francisco. A Bay Area native, he developed a passion for public service and leadership during his undergraduate years at UC Berkeley.  While studying at Duke Law School, Phil worked as a Senior Communications Advisor in a campaign for North Carolina Lieutenant Governor, organized North Carolina law students for the Obama campaign, and received recognition from Duke Law and the North Carolina state bar for his pro bono work as a student. Since graduating law school, he has provided pro bono representation to various San Francisco entrepreneurs, small businesses and charitable/educational organizations, and has worked on projects with the Lawyers Committee on Civil Rights and the SF Bar’s Volunteer Legal Services Program.   Phil started his legal career at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Minami Tamaki LLP in San Francisco, and is currently a legal counsel at GoPro, Inc. Back to the top.

Richard Blum founded equity investment management firm Blum Capital in 1975 and is the Chairman and President. Active in numerous non-profit organizations, Blum is the Founder and Chairman of the American Himalayan Foundation and is honorary consul to Mongolia and Nepal. On April 25, 2009 Blum was honored with the Berkeley Medal by UC Berkeley Chancellor Robert Birgenau in front of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Blum received both a BS in business administration and MBA from University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Back to the top.

Resident Bishop, SF Area, California-Nevada Annual Conference, The United Methodist Church
A native of Baltimore, Bishop Warner Brown graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in sociology in 1969 and from Wesley Seminary in 1974. As a pastor, the Bishop has served local churches and administrative roles in both the Western Pennsylvania and California-Nevada Annual Conferences. Bishop Brown was elected and consecrated a bishop in July 2000. Serving as resident bishop for California-Nevada Annual Conference since September 2008, he leads over three hundred and sixty United Methodist Congregations and Ministries in the Northern two-thirds of California and Northern Nevada. Crickette Brown Glad

Ms. Brown Glad is a compassionate and creative leader with extensive experience spearheading results-oriented projects and committees.  She has more than 35 years of experience as an entrepreneur, social visionary and champion of diversity, inclusion and resilience.  In addition to her work on many pivotal projects at GLIDE, Ms. Brown Glad is also a renowned artist, successful small business owner, former Deacon & God-powered change agent.   She is the founder and designer of Between the Cleavage Jewelry Design, a successful small business since 1999 and has studied at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA.  Ms. Brown Glad has been a GLIDE Church member since 2011 and has spearheaded multiple fundraising campaigns, hosted events, and provided strong support to staff, congregation & program participants. Back to the top.

 

Miguel Bustos

Senior Vice President, Community Relations and Outreach Regional Director, Wells Fargo
A native San Franciscan who is born and raised in the Mission Distric of San Francisco, Miguel Bustos is Senior Vice President for Community Relations and Outreach Regional Director for Wells Fargo & Co.’s Consumer Lending Group.  He has served as an appointed official to local and national elected officials: first as Policy Advisor for President Clinton and Vice President Gore at the White House; Deputy District Director for Congresswoman Barbara Lee; Director of Boards and Commissions for San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom; and most recently Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Mayor Ronald V. Dellums. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Holy Names University and a Master’s Degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from the School of International Service at the America University in Washington, DC.  He is also completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility from St. Mary’s College of California. Back to the top.

John Philip Coghlan is a Partner, Seraph Group. He has served as President and CEO of Visa USA.  He served as President, Individual Investor of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. (Schwab), a subsidiary of Charles Schwab Corp. (formerly, Schwab Charles Corp.) and served as an Executive Vice President of Charles Schwab Corporation. He was the co-founder and COO of San Francisco Grocery Express, Ltd. and has served as a senior associate for a public policy consulting firm in Washington, D.C. Coghlan holds a BA in psychology from Stanford University, an MA in economics and public policy from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Rev. Charles Cordes, Emeritus Trustee

Retired Pastor and former District Superintendent of United Methodist Church
Charles Cordes is a member of the California-Nevada Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He has served five churches and was District Superintendent for the United Methodist Church in San Francisco. Lars Dalgaard is a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz..  With 15 years of proven strategic and hands on operating and leadership experience, he has served as Adviser to SAP Cloud Business at SAP AG since June 1, 2013. and served as a Member of Executive Board at SAP AG, from April 12, 2012 to June 1, 2013. He worked in Europe, Asia and North America, as both Chief Executive Officer of a 350 person company and line manager. He co-founded Successfactors, Inc., a provider of state-of-the-art Business Execution Software solutions, in 2001 and served as its Chief Executive Officer and President. He holds a BA in economics, psychology and consumer behavior from Copenhagen Business School and an MS from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was a Sloan Fellow. Back to the top.

Stephen J. Davis

Stephen Davis is a Partner at Banneker Partners, a firm which focuses on investments in public and private software, internet and business services companies. Prior to Banneker Partners, Mr. Davis co-founded Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm that grew to over $2 billion in capital during his tenure. Mr. Davis is on the Board of Directors at the Center for Investigative Reporting in Berkeley, California and works with M3 Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on providing education and life skills to youth in the East Bay. Erby L. Foster, Jr. is Director, Diversity & Inclusion, for The Clorox Company, where he advises senior management and the board of directors on the Company’s diversity strategy, employment-branding initiatives, external partnerships with professional organizations, and manages employee resource groups. Mr. Foster is a CPA with 15 years of experience creating and implementing business strategies that increase customer satisfaction, drive profitable growth, and expand market share. Prior to Clorox, he served in senior positions at AAA Chicago, McDonald’s Corporation, PepsiCo / KFC Corporation and a Business Management Firm. Nicole Harris

Ms. Harris advises business units across the company regarding a broad range of transactional matters affecting the core business of the company. Prior to going in-house, Ms. Harris joined the Department of Justice through the United States Attorney General’s Honor Program and then worked in private practice for several years. Ms. Harris chairs the American Bar Association Business Law Section, Corporate Director Diversity Committee and is a member of the ABA Standing Committee on Public Education.  Ms. Harris currently serves on the Volunteer Legal Services Program board of the Bar Association of San Francisco. She received the Bradford S. King Award for Excellence in Service by a Young Alumnus/a from the University of California at Berkeley in 2009 and received her B.A. and J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. A results-driven leader with extensive experience organizing communities, designing public policy, managing organizations, motivating staff and administering complex programs, she currently serves as Executive Director, National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health and Director, Finance and Administration, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, University of California San Francisco. Through work in various organizations such as the Gray Panthers, the Southern Mutual Help Association, and UCSF, Dixie has been recognized for key accomplishments at the local, state, national and international levels and is a national and state leader in the field of wellness, health and leisure services. She served as the past chair of two national nonprofits, SeniorNet and the National Women’s History Project. Back to the top.

Phyllis Kaplan

A GLIDE volunteer and Board Member for over three decades, Dr. Phyllis Kaplan is an ardent supporter and advocate of children with special circumstances and challenges. She consults numerous school districts and community projects, and voluntarily serves students in many corners of the world such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Guatemala, and Bolivia. Dr. Kaplan received her Ph.D. in special education from Wayne State University and has written eight books and numerous professional articles. Back to the top.

Rev. Odette Lockwood-Stewart

Instructor in the Practice of Ministry & Director of Field Education and Contextual Learning, Pacific School of Religion
Reverend Odette Lockwood-Stewart has led congregations and campus ministries for thirty-five years as an elder in the United Methodist Church. Reverend Lockwood-Stewart has founded and re-vitalized ministries in health sciences, higher education, and community organizing as well as served as the founding director of PSR’s Contextual Learning program. She has published devotions, curriculum, sermons, and poetry as well as papers in social religious history, which is the area of her academic interest. She has given professional leadership at international, national, regional, and local levels of the denomination and ecumenical associations, including serving as Director of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry and as President of the National Campus Ministry Association. Shireen McSpadden

Deputy Director, SF Department of Aging & Adult Services
Shireen McSpadden has worked in social services for more than 25 years.  Currently, she serves as the deputy director of the San Francisco Department of Aging and Adult Services.  Shireen serves on the community advisory board for UCSF’s Center for Aging in Diverse Communities.  She has served on the executive board of the California Association of Public Administrators, Public Guardians and Public Conservators as well as the boards of Rebuilding Together San Francisco and Habitat for Humanity San Francisco.  Shireen received a BA in Psychology from the College of Wooster and an MNA from the University of San Francisco.  She is an alumna of Leadership San Francisco, Class of 2006. Christopher Lord is the Founder of Criterion Capital Management, an investment fund that specializes in technology, media and telecommunications. Donald Tamaki, Emeritus Trustee

Partner, Minami Tamaki LLP
Born in Oakland, Donald Tamaki graduated from University of California at Berkeley in 1973 and received his JD from Boalt Hall in 1976. He is a partner with Minami Tamaki LLP where he practice focuses on Corporate and Business, Non-profit Corporations, Contracts and Entertainment Law. In 1987 Tamaki received the Loren Miller Award, the State Bar of California’s highest recognition for providing legal services to the poor and working on civil rights issues and in 2003 he received the Trailblazer Award from the National Asian Pacific Bar Association. Jerry Vallery’s professional experience in information technology started with IBM sales and progressed through various senior executive management positions with leading Fortune 100 firms such as Oracle, Computer Sciences, and CA (Computer Associates). Vallery holds a BS in physics with honors from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a JD from Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Michael manages West Coast Equity Derivatives and US Shares, based in San Francisco. Michael joined Goldman Sachs in 2003 as a vice president and was named managing director in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Michael worked at Saloman Smith Barney in equity derivatives and at Citibank in debt capital markets. Faham Zakariaei

Director, Special Ticket Events 2010 & 2012 World Series Champions San Francisco Giants Baseball Organization
Faham Zakariaei is the Director, Special Ticket Events for the San Francisco Giants Baseball Organization, the 2010 & 2012 World Series Champions. Under his leadership, the Giants Special Events have been recognized as one of the leading Targeted Marketing programs in professional sports. He’s developed ethnic marketing platforms as well as fundraising initiatives and is a liaison between the team and several non-profits including Autism Speaks, the Milagro Foundation, the Rex Foundation and numerous Education Foundations. Faham sits on the board for the Manny Pacquiao Foundation, and has also partnered with several civic-minded entities in San Francisco, including the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.  Faham attended the University of Arizona, receiving his B.S. in Marketing and International Business while interning with various sports teams and agencies, he’s recognized as a top alumnus, helping develop one of the U of A’s first sports marketing scholarships.
