Women in Leadership: An open note to young women

Anger. Fear. Disbelief. Those are emotions I feel while gauging the current political climate. We live in a world where Hillary Clinton, a woman who has made mistakes and flip-flopped on critical social issues, may lose to a man who

Gun (Out Of) Control

The massacre in Orlando has resulted in the country yet again going into its now too common rhetoric of the need for “gun control.” We have developed a patterned, predictable response to these acts of terror and violence. We even

GLIDE Instagram
As one of our busiest days of the year draws to a close, we'd like to share a serendipitous find that we discovered in the archives today. In 1997, LIFE magazine featured GLIDE in a long piece entitled "A Church for the Twenty-First Century." Here is photo of Rev. Cecil, doin' his thing and handing out grocery bags to the community 20 years ago. At events like Grocery Bag Giveaway, our committed staff, community partners, dedicated volunteers & Tenderloin neighbors work side by side to remind our city, and our country, of the persistence of human goodness and unconditional love.

I am overwhelmed by the generosity of our community, by the hundreds of volunteers that have shown up." #GLIDEholidays #GBG #GBG in action! The line stretches from Ellis to Leavenworth. #foodjustice #GLIDEholidays
